About Us
Shaped by Hand, One Piece at a Time
CeraBien is a small ceramic studio where every mug, plate, and candle holder begins as a lump of raw clay. Nothing here comes off a production line — each piece is shaped by hand on the wheel or built by hand, dried slowly, fired, and then painted entirely by hand with tiny brushes and a lot of patience.
How Your Piece Is Made
1. Shaping. We start with high-quality stoneware clay, forming each piece individually. Because human hands are not machines, no two pieces are ever exactly the same size or shape — and that's the point.
2. First firing. After days of slow drying, the pieces go through their first (bisque) firing, which turns soft clay into durable ceramic.
3. Hand painting. This is where each piece gets its soul. Every cat, flower, ghost, and landscape you see in our shop is painted freehand — not printed, not stamped, not decaled. A single mug can take hours to paint.
4. Glazing and final firing. A food-safe glaze seals the artwork, and a second high-temperature firing makes each piece strong enough for daily use. Most of our pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe, though gentle hand washing keeps the colors vivid longest.
Truly One of a Kind
When you order from CeraBien, you're not buying a copy of a photo — you're buying a sibling of it. Brush strokes, color tones, and small details vary from piece to piece, because each one is painted individually. That little variation is your guarantee that a real person made your piece, for you.
Made in Small Batches, Sent with Care
We produce in small batches and pack every order by hand with protective, recyclable materials so your piece arrives safely wherever you are in the world. If you'd like something custom — a name, a specific animal, a color you love — just reach out through our contact page. We love making pieces with a personal story.
Thank you for supporting handmade. Every order keeps a small studio's kilns firing.
