Each handmade ceramic mug is shaped, glazed and painted individually in our studio, then kiln-fired. The whale is painted by hand, so its arc across the mug is slightly different on every piece — no two swim the same line.

Why blue rewards hand-painting

Ocean blues show every variation in brush pressure — darker where the glaze pools, lighter where it thins. That depth is impossible to reproduce in print, and it's why a large pottery mug painted this way feels like water rather than a picture of water.
